Our goal is to always balance the needs of our client with the needs of the natural and man made environment, creating an identity or "sense of place" for each site.
Dresdner Robin provided Landscape Architectural, Planning, Environmental and Civil design services for the redevelopment of the old Yardley Soap Factory site. The project sits on three acres above the Palisades cliffs overlooking Hoboken, Weehawken and New York City. Dresdner Robin prepared numerous schematic designs to best locate the parking, walkways and service areas on this unique site. The sites steep topography and depth to bedrock were restrictive factors in the design. Terraced parking, concrete segmented retaining walls, decorative pavements, site furniture lighting and extensive planting were designed to achieve the necessary parking count while providing screen planting, shade, passive seating areas with vistas of the city and safety to the project. The project also includes a streetscape along the sites frontage on Palisades Avenue including street trees, lighting, and decorative pavements.
