EXPERIENCE:
Until March, 2009, Tony was a Senior Vice President of Apartment Investment and Management Company(AIMCO). He ran AIMCO’s real estate development and redevelopment operations in the NE region, comprising Philadelphia, New York Metro, and the Boston markets. He managed overall development, product positioning, and real-estate entitlement efforts. (AIMCO is a public real estate investment trust, is the nation’s largest owner and operator of apartment communities - AIMCO owns or manages a real estate portfolio of 1,067 multi-family properties containing approximately 178,000 units.)
Prior to joining AIMCO in 2005, Tony was a VP/Development Partner with Lincoln Property Company. In 1998, he opened an office for Lincoln in New Jersey, and established Lincoln’s presence in the Tri-state (NJ,NY,CT) market. He sourced and developed over $200M worth of high-quality urban-infill projects - including two large-scale, waterfront, high-density, urban-infill projects, one with a marina and one constructed on a pier in the Hudson River, and a high-density transit village in a commuter suburb of NYC.
From 1996 to 1998 Tony was a Development Director of AvalonBay Communities, Inc. in Boston, where he sourced and developed projects in the New England market. (AvalonBay is a public real estate investment trust and the nation’s leader in the development of apartment communities.)
From 1986 to 1996 Tony worked in Boston for The Druker Company as a development project manager and was responsible for office building, land, retail centers (suburban strip and urban infill), hotel/residential, mixed-use, and office/residential/retail mixed-use development projects. He pursued real estate investment and development opportunities. Targeted investments included existing property acquisitions, new developments and adaptive re-use developments (apartment, retail, office & industrial property types). He also marketed the firm’s capabilities and leased space in new developments and existing properties. The Druker Company, private and founded in 1901, is known for its extensive holdings and an extraordinary quality of construction and leading-edge design and architecture.
From 1981 to 1986 he worked for LaSalle Partners (now Jones Lang LaSalle) as an asset manager of retail and office properties in Chicago and New York and as the development manager of a $30M redevelopment and repositioning of “The News Building”, a designated New York City Landmark totaling 1.2M square feet.
Tony started his business career in 1980 as a financial analyst for Exxon Corporation in New York.
