Community Workshop 3 - October 14, 2008 - 7:00PM to 9:00PM

Phase I – Project Commencement – C ompleted.
Phase II – Schematic Design – In Progress

The initial step of all successful projects is to develop the schematic design elements of the master plan for the property. During the schematic design our goals and objectives will be to develop a project base map, establish park programming and design elements (in collaboration with the JCRA) , conduct preliminary research with regards to feasibility, availability, capacity, engage the community, and develop preliminary master plan drawings, specifications, estimate, and schedule.

We are currently in Phase II “Schematic Design” of the project and have completed the topographic boundary survey, utility due diligence investigation and performed multiple site reconnaissance visits to the site to gather information not picked up by the aerial survey. We had our first community group meeting back in September and it was a great success. We really appreciate the enthusiasm and energy displayed by the attendees and the information we gathered was critical. Pictures from the first Community Workshop and a summary report from the Workshop are located under the Community Section. The Design Team has been meeting frequently to develop concept plans for the park utilizing the input we received from the Workshop and the City.

The Preliminary Concept Plans that we developed will be presented at the next Community Workshop for review and comment. We hope to see you there and get your input, but for those of you who can not attend we will post the concept plans on the website for downloading and you can send us your comments via email, regular mail or phone (charles – Place link to contacts.)

Adds/press releases for Community Workshop #2 will be in 4 local newspapers; The Jersey Journal, The Hudson Observer, Urban Times and El Especial and are typically listed under the Community Section. We would like as many people as possible to be involved so tell a friend.

Tune in to the Community Section after the Workshop to see what the residents had to stay.
