Dresdner Robin was engaged to investigate a ten (10) acre parcel in Jersey City known as the “Turnpike Drum Dump”. Situated within an abandoned former industrial area, the site was recently the subject of emergency drum removal activities and soil investigations by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Dresdner Robin’s responsibilities included a detailed assessment of the historic soil and groundwater investigations, including those conducted recently by the EPA, and the preparation of a Preliminary Assessment Report and a Remedial Investigation Workplan.

Dresdner Robin assisted in the preparation and submittal of a Brownfield Redevelopment Application, which in included the Turnpike Drum Dump as well as many surrounding properties. The BDA, titled the “Grand-Jersey Redevelopment Area” was one of only two BDA’s approved by the NJDEP in 2007. Benefits of the BDA include a single case manager for all properties, high priority expedited reviews and NJDEP grants of up to five (5) million dollars annually for investigation and remediation. Dresdner Robin is serving as a technical expert on the BDA steering committee on behalf of the property owner and designated within the Grand-Jersey Redevelopment Area.

Dresdner Robin’s Remedial Investigation Workplan was recently approved by the NJDEP and remedial Investigations are scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2008.
