Dresdner Robin is a big impact firm – we are a focused team of subject matter experts who collaborate across disciplines to deliver coordinated detail-oriented solutions for every project. When serving our clients, we are available, responsive and cooperative as we deliver thoughtful, comprehensive professional solutions for challenging sites.
In 1978, our founders, Allen Dresdner and Edward Robin, worked together to pioneer the practices of brownfield remediation, laying the groundwork for much of the redevelopment that has occurred on environmentally impacted sites in Jersey City, across the state and beyond. (See highlights of NJ’s environmental history in our StoryMap here.) Since then, their collaboration has grown to become a multidisciplinary firm providing integrated services in environmental consulting, civil engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and land surveying. But their core philosophy, specialists working closely together, remains.
Now, with over four decades of experience, headquarters in Jersey City, and regional offices in Cherry Hill and Fairfield, New Jersey, the firm is a New Jersey certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) that has built a reputation for delivering high-quality solutions that address the complexities of modern development while prioritizing sustainability and community transformation. Dresdner Robin serves a diverse clientele of private developers, municipalities, and public agencies, delivering impactful results across urban redevelopment, infrastructure improvement, and land use planning projects.
Dresdner Robin is routinely selected for large-scale and complex projects, successfully competing with significantly larger firms in the region. The firm delivers end-to-end land use solutions, guiding projects seamlessly from concept to completion. Licensed in multiple states and certified in a broad range of disciplines—including Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP), Professional Engineer (PE), Licensed Landscape Architect (LLA), Licensed Land Surveyor, AHERA certified, and Professional Planners (PP)- the firm brings technical depth and regulatory insight to every phase of a project. Notable projects such as Pulaski Skyway and Journal Squared in Jersey City, New Jersey, demonstrate the firm’s capacity to manage multifaceted efforts with speed, flexibility, and precision.
A key advantage of Dresdner Robin is its ability to facilitate collaboration across departments. Civil engineers, planners, scientists, surveyors, and landscape architects work side by side, ensuring efficient coordination, faster response times, and more cohesive project delivery. This internal integration allows for continuity in addressing site constraints, meeting regulatory requirements, and aligning objectives with functional and aesthetic goals. The result is a consistent and reliable approach to complex redevelopment and infrastructure projects.
Dresdner Robin’s mission is rooted in transforming the built environment whether developing stormwater management systems, supporting NEPA documentation or designing greenways and public parks, the firm integrates environmental responsibility into every project. Dresdner Robin continues to be a trusted partner for land use solutions that prioritize people, place, and long-term performance. Through its commitment to service, innovation, and results, the firm remains a leader in shaping the future of communities across New Jersey and beyond.
