The Grand Jersey Development Area is nestled between downtown Jersey City and Liberty State Park. Plagued by decades of pollution from railroads and heavy industry, the area needs a complete overhaul.

To help establish a strategic vision for redevelopment of this underutilized waterfront, we’ve been guiding the planning process, from zoning to site layout, capitalizing on the project’s proximity to two Hudson-Bergen Light Rail stops. What some consider barren land, we see a blank slate to transform a neighborhood to include new, sustainable infrastructure. Our vision includes a storm water management system utilizing bio swales and constructed wetlands, as well as the opportunity to install separated sanitary and storm sewers.

Environmental investigations have revealed heavy concentrations of many hazardous chemicals and solvents, some as deep as 23 feet underground. Our team is developing remedial plans to tackle these issues and make the area safer for everyone. The site is also located in one of the most flood-prone areas of Jersey City. In a region that experienced storm surges of up to eight feet during Superstorm Sandy, our proposed terra forming will raise roads and buildings, enabling Jersey City to be more resilient against future storms. Once completed Crescent Park will be a true story of resilience and transformation and a vibrant waterfront neighborhood.
