Meadowland Park
Dresdner Robin has been working with the Township of South Orange Village to expand recreational uses as well as implement sustainable design elements within the existing Meadowland Park. Dresdner Robin performed a detailed site analysis, identifying opportunities and site constraints including floodplain and riparian buffer limits, connections to nearby amenities, and existing park programming. We assisted the Village in developing park programming through a series of public outreach events, including an online park user survey and public design workshop. The workshop, including a charrette exercise, was held virtually at the request of the Village. Utilizing the data obtained through public outreach, Dresdner Robin crafted a comprehensive program, balancing active and passive recreation uses with green stormwater infrastructure and resiliency features such as rain gardens, riparian buffer plantings, and permeable pavements. Using the comprehensive program as a framework, Dresdner Robin prepared and presented multiple concept plans to Village officials and stakeholders. Final graphics, including an animated fly-through of the selected concept, were presented to the public and Village officials.
