Flemington Maintenance Facility
NJ Department of Transportation
Dresdner Robin has performed Preliminary Assessment (PA)/Site Investigation (SI), Remedial Investigation (RI) and Remedial Action (RA) activities at the 5-acre Flemington Maintenance Facility located on Route 31, in Flemington Borough and Raritan Township, Hunterdon County, NJ.
Dresdner Robin designed and implemented an SI and RI to assess soil and groundwater contamination related to the former site activities. Bedrock cores, soil borings, bedrock monitoring wells and geophysical surveys were obtained to complete a hydrological assessment of contaminant plume impacts. Dresdner Robin performed on-site and off-site vapor intrusion investigations, identified sensitive populations and ecological receptors, and determined an Immediate Environmental Concern (IEC) condition for the contaminated groundwater. Monitoring well and bedrock aquifer, data and computer modeling was performed to support the design of a Ground Water Treatment System (GWTS) to establish hydraulic control on site.
Dresdner Robins survey and engineering staff provided topographic survey, site, and utility plans, and bid specifications for the GWTS. Dresdner Robin also coordinated extensively with the local water and sewer authority, New Jersey Treasury Department and NJDOT personnel regarding the system planning and construction of the GWTS and provided construction support services for the installation of an AccuBrine® system at the Site. Dresdner Robin obtained the NJDEP discharge to surface water (BGR) and air emissions permits for the GWTS and the system, constructed under Dresdner Robin oversight, is operated, and maintained by a Dresdner Robin N-2 operator.
