Dresdner Robin teamed up with the St. Lucy’s Emergency Shelter in Downtown Jersey City and the Jersey Cares volunteer program to host a community service day. After work, the Dresdner Robin team all headed down to the shelter with matching Dresdner Robin shirts and big smiles ready to help. When we got there, we were split up into two groups which had different community service tasks to accomplish. The first group started off by sorting clothes that have been donated to the shelter. They sorted items by size and style to make it easier to give out to those in need.
The second group was in charge of creating “Giving Thanks” bags which consisted of a festive canvas bag with nonperishable food items and a heartwarming note inside. These would be given out at the shelter as well. The third task was to create a “no sew hat” for the clients at the shelter to wear during those cold winter days. Together we shared some laughs, and most importantly gave back to the community.
