Management and Transfer of Environmental Risk in the Acquisition and Development of Brownfields Sites

Dresdner Robin - Environmental Risk Event

On April 23, Dresdner Robin hosted an executive level seminar titled “Management and Transfer of Environmental Risk in the Acquisition and Development of Brownfields Sites” at The Westin Jersey City Newport in Jersey City, N.J. The event featured experts from Dresdner Robin’s Engineering, Environmental, and Construction Management divisions; insurance brokers from Synapse and Construction Risk Partners, and environmental attorneys from CSG Law. The invitation only event attracted a significant turnout of senior professionals from the real estate, legal, insurance, consulting and contracting industries, as well as the insurance carrier and brokerage sectors. They gathered to explore effective strategies for mitigating risk when acquiring and remediating Brownfield sites.

The discussions were focused on risk transfer, risk quantification and modeling, and the need for integration of environmental and development project planning. Discussions were also held regarding the strategies relating to emerging contaminants such as PFAS and how developers anticipate and protect themselves from future liabilities and costly clean-ups associated with these contaminants. The seminar provided valuable strategies and hands-on, real world insights, empowering attendees with the knowledge of how to effectively transform abandoned, unused properties into profitable ventures by effectively managing environmental risks.
