OUR ROLE IN MAKING STEEL FEEL LIKE HOME
In Harrison, there is a modern residential building known as Steel Works. This industrial-looking apartment complex was inspired by its prime location in the town’s 35-acre Riverbend District that was in dire need of transformation. Dresdner Robin has a long history transforming the Riverbend District in Harrison that started with the redevelopment effort of the entire six blocks including site remediation activities, utility, and roadway design. For this project, Dresdner Robin was retained by Block E Partners Urban Renewal LLC to develop a residential mid-rise apartment building with parking garage and adjacent pocket park in the Riverbend District. Our scope included site design, NJDEP Land Use Permitting, municipal and utility approvals as well as extensive on-site and streetscape design.
Our landscape architecture team jumped at the chance to design a pair of inviting courtyards for this complex and its residents. Our team worked together to create all the perks new apartment-seekers look for, something that’s stylish and reflects their personality. These included a heated outdoor pool, a pet park, an outdoor movie screen, and a second courtyard with fireside lounge and bar. The courtyard designs were the perfect connecting features for this space and for residents to meet and enjoy the amenities that Dresdner Robin so proudly provided.
