On Thursday, October 12, 2017, Urban Land Institute (ULI) of Northern New Jersey held their annual awards dinner. ULI’s Awards for Excellence recognize a collection of projects designed to enhance the urban environment through sustainable design and innovative solutions to the challenges of urban redevelopment. Dresdner Robin was honored to have played a key role in four of the eight winning projects.
In the Mixed-Use category, the award went to Park + Garden, recognizing our civil, environmental, and landscape architectural work for long-time client Bijou to life Properties. Dresdner Robin’s design included streetscape improvements, utility design, an on-grade plaza and playground, and a rooftop amenity deck. Park + Garden showcased Bijou Properties’ dedication to sustainable design and Dresdner Robin’s proficiency in meeting LEED green building requirements.
The Capital Markets/Equity award went to Journal Squared, a second project that relied on the skills of multiple disciplines of Dresdner Robin. Civil engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, and environmental specialists came together on this project to deliver yet another residential high rise in the rapidly growing Journal Square neighborhood.
Modera Lofts, also in Jersey City, took the award for the Residential category. Dresdner Robin assisted in the transformation of this former warehouse into a uniquely beautiful residential building.
The Sustainable Development / Open Space category recognized Berry Lane Park, Jersey City’s newest and largest addition to public open space and recreation. Berry Lane Park’s sustainable features include permeable paving, underground detention basins beneath sports courts and fields, LED lighting, and rain garden-style plantings. It’s 14 acres provide multiple recreation options ranging from soccer and football fields to a 250-person capacity spray park.
Dresdner Robin is honored to have our projects recognized by the Urban Land Institute and proud to have contributed to the ongoing redevelopment of the urban landscape.
